The purpose of the program is to support local heritage and traditions through a grant program for the individual folk artist, providing the opportunity to work on the work, which is important both
from the point of view of its development and from the perspective of spreading knowledge of the unique skills and traditions associated with them, which are an important part of the identity of the local community. The Fellowship's priorities concern creative projects rooted in the local community of the folk artist, with a particular focus on skills and content in danger of disappearing.
The result of completed creative projects is the production of a work (or works) of folk art, handicrafts or folk crafts, demonstrating a high artistic level and proficiency in the mastery of traditional skills and a high potential for strengthening those in danger of disappearing.
