In the past, women in the countryside, especially during the winter season, worked together to prepare Christmas decorations, spinning, embroidering and making cut-outs. These activities were usually accompanied by singing and cheerful chatting. Such activities brought people together. Children watched the work of their mothers or grandmothers attentively and participated in it with joy. The handicrafts produced in this way had their own unique character.
Even today, the richness of Polish folklore can inspire the creative development of our children. Folk art, thanks to its simplicity, rich colors and realism, is very accessible to children. Its content is drawn from the immediate environment, it shows a love of nature and a joyful attitude to life. All this makes the youngest children eagerly reach for her creations. So it is worth taking advantage of this potential, and there are many possibilities. Talking with grandparents, making traditional Christmas ornaments, cut-outs or embroidery together - this is not only valuable time spent with the family, but also an unusual history lesson at the same time. Nothing pleases more than a handmade toy or a mug made of clay.
