Use of the services offered by the CBR NIKiDW in Pulawy is open to the public. It is possible to borrow publications externally, as well as to use them on site in the Column Room, which is the Library's Reading Room. This special place witnessed a landmark event for Poland. Here stands the table at which, in August 1920, Marshal Jozef Pilsudski and his staff held war meetings before the Battle of Warsaw. In addition, this room serves as an exhibition hall for occasional exhibitions, vernissages and author meetings organized by the Library. Library lessons and bookbinding workshops are conducted as part of the activities of the Pulawy facility.
Cały księgozbiór warszawski został przewieziony do Puław.
At present, the Central Agricultural Library of the National Institute of Rural Heritage and Culture is still a scientific library under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. In addition to agricultural literature and natural sciences in the broadest sense, it also collects collections in ethnology, sociology and culture, and conducts teaching and cultural activities in accordance with its statute.
Acquisitions collected in the Library come from both the publishing and antiquarian markets. Its book collection consists of about 380,000 volumes of publications, including 207,000 compact publications, 131,000 continuous publications. The Library's collections include two valuable collections, consisting of 832 old prints and about 8200 19th-century polonics. They constitute a unique and rich collection covering agricultural and natural science issues and belong to the National Library Resource.
CBR in cooperation with five research centers: SGGW Main Library, the Main Library of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, the Main Library of the Bydgoszcz University of Technology, the Institute of Biotechnology of the Agricultural and Food Industry in Warsaw, and the Main Library of the Agricultural University in Cracow, is developing its own SIGŻ (Food Management Information System) database. It is a freely available abstract database containing articles from scientific journals in agriculture, veterinary medicine, life sciences and related fields. The SIGŻ team is also implementing the "Library Lesson with the SIGŻ database" project. Its goal is to demonstrate to high school students how to use the CBR's electronic resources.
In 2024, the Central Agricultural Library of the National Institute for Rural Heritage and Culture is carrying out preparatory work to connect to the integrated library resource management system under the "National Reading Development Program 2.0 for 2021-2025" multi-year program.
