A country dance understood as a dance party with folk and traditional music should be organized as an autonomous event. Its key element is to establish cooperation with Polish performers of traditional rural music characteristic of the place where the dance is held.
Through the Program, the Institute brings closer, especially to the younger generation, the value of native traditions and the timelessness of its elements. The intention of the Rural Dances Program is also to support artists and performers in the cultivation of traditional music of the Polish countryside and to strengthen the functioning of tradition in its place of origin.
One of the greatest values in folk culture is its diversity, which is why the Institute's Rural Dances Program will assist entities implementing an initiative whose foundation is folk culture as locally as possible, thus nurturing their own local music and dance traditions.
Entities such as rural housewives' associations, volunteer fire departments, NGOs, local government cultural institutions can apply for funding under the Program.
The call for Applications for the Program shall be held from 01.05.2024 to 24.05.2024.
The period for organizing the dances is July 15 - October 15, 2024.
The maximum amount of funding for a Task under the Program for one Beneficiary
is PLN 10,000.
