At the official launch, authors of the series, education representatives and experts in ethnography
and history met to share thoughts on the role of cultural heritage in education. Participants also had the opportunity to hear stories about the process of creating the books.
Professor Katherine Smyk, co-author of the concept, shared sources of inspiration, directing attention to how educational materials not only convey knowledge, but also engage students
in learning details.
In turn, Ewelina Garbula, illustrator of the series, presented details of the creative process and the artistic challenges she encountered while working on the books.
A sympathetic highlight of the conference was the presentation of prizes to children participating in the illustration contest "Storytelling in Folk."
The official part was followed by an inspiring panel discussion, which included experts such as Łukasz Ciemiński - ethnographer and art historian; Witold Kuczyński - teacher and animator of Kurpie culture; Andrzej Peć - Director of the Municipal Museum in Sucha Beskidzka; Anita Rucioch-Gołek - Director of the Arkady Fiedler Elementary School in Zbąszyń.
The discussion covered the benefits of regional education in elementary schools and the practical aspects of using the series "Expeditions with Ethnoekipa. Get to know the old countryside." in work with students.
The meeting was enriched by the artistic performance of the Bagpiper Band "Ignysie from Leszno", delicious regional dishes prepared by the rural housewives' circles and the presence of Ethnoekipa characters.
