Welcoming summer with the culture of Podkarpacie is behind us!

27 lipca Narodowy Instytut Kultury i Dziedzictwa Wsi miał przyjemność gościć Państwa na wydarzeniu poświęconemu kulturze Podkarpacia. Piękna pogoda, smaczne jedzenie, dobra muzyka, ciekawe warsztaty i zabawa taneczna do późnych godzin wieczornych – takie atrakcje czekały tego dnia na naszych gości.

Starting at 3 pm, folk bands and ensembles from the Subcarpathian region presented themselves on stage. The first to perform was the Sanok Folk Dance Ensemble. The dancers' artistry, well-thought-out choreography, and beautiful, colorful costumes drew applause from the audience. The next performer was the Regional Song and Dance Ensemble Markowianie. Its members cultivate old dances, dance routines practiced for years, and expand their repertoire with previously unknown folklore content extracted from the oldest villagers. For forty years, the group has been presenting dances of Przeworsk, Rzeszow, Lasowiacki and the dances closest to their hearts, those of Markov and neighboring villages. The third group that presented itself on our stage was the Wiercany Song and Dance Group. Its repertoire included Polish national dances and regional dances: Rzeszow, Silesian, Lublin, Przeworsk, Lowicz, Old Warsaw dances, as well as folk songs and chants. Adding variety to the performance was a laundry show, which was met with great interest by the large audience.

Until 8 pm, visitors could take part in handicraft workshops. Ms. Barbara Brudniak taught all those willing to make beautiful ornaments from aspen shavings, while Mr. Jan Lewkowicz, a talented artist who undertook to reactivate the so-called "amphibian woodcut" in the Lubaczow area, conducted woodcut workshops.

Folk artists presented their products at the stands. One could admire the artistic toy products of Mr. Ryszard Marcińca, the intricately made krywulki of Ms. Ewelina Matusiak-Wyderka, the ceramic products of Mr. Janusz Głowiak and the block lace products of Ms. Beata Babiarz.

The "Culture of Podkarpacie" event was also a feast for the palate. Visitors were greeted by booths with traditional regional dishes. Rural housewives' circles presented specialties such as: proziaki, zalewajka, podkarpacki żurek, bigos po bobrowsku, pierogi with plum, kaszak and many other delicacies.

Thank you all for coming and welcome to our next event on August 10!
