Poetry in the dialect of the Żywiec Highlanders

We will present another video about the participants of the Second Edition of the Scholarship Program for Folk Artists. Today we invite you to listen to a story about the inner need to record the dialect, customs and image of the Zywiec village, which is no longer there today.

The purpose of the Folk Artists Fellowship is to support local heritage and traditions through a grant program for an individual folk artist, providing the opportunity to work on a work, which is important both from the point of view of its development and from the perspective of spreading knowledge of the unique skills and traditions associated with them, which are an important part of the identity of the local community. The Fellowship's priorities concern creative projects rooted in the local community of the folk artist, with a particular focus on skills and content in danger of disappearing.

Waleria Prochownik from Zywiec talks about her late debut and difficult beginnings in literary work, the need to describe the changes taking place at the moment of breakthrough, political and historical change, a deep look into the human being and the importance of dialect past and present.

Enjoy the video!
