Traditionally, we began with the presentation of the harvest bread to the Acting Director of the Institute, Mrs. Elzbieta Osinska-Kassa, and the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Czeslaw Siekierski, and the singing of the harvest wreath by the Circle of Rural Housewives "Homesteads Together". After 12:00 pm, folk music resounded on the stage in front of the Institute. Entertainment until late in the afternoon was provided for our guests - the "Zagroda Nuta" Singing Group, the Bedlno Children's and Youth Song and Dance Ensemble, the "Karniewiacy" Regional Folk Group, the "Zawierucha" Song and Dance Group and the Vołosi.
In addition to the unquestionable musical experience, visitors to our event could taste the delicacies of regional cuisine prepared by the rural housewives' circles. It was also possible to purchase products from local manufacturers, such as: honey, swojskie wędliny, breads, knots, cheeses. Of course, there was no shortage of products of folk art and traditional rural professions, such as embroidery, lace, ceramics and spoon-making.
Wielkim zainteresowaniem cieszyła się wystawa prac Stypendystów Narodowego Instytutu Kultury i Dziedzictwa Wsi, pt. „Mistrzowie… Uczniowie…Twórcy… Odwiedzający ją goście mieli okazję zobaczyć m.in.: ręczniki obrzędowe, haft krzczonowski, zabawki ludowe, piękne malowidła na szkle, drewniane szopki, rękawice furmańskie i dużo, dużo innych ciekawych eksponatów.
Of course, the hero of Saturday's event was bread. The smell of freshly baked bread spread throughout Krakowskie Przedmieście. An undoubted attraction was the bread-baking workshop. Each participant could compose their own baked goods with pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, onions, garlic, cranberries and herbs such as basil, rosemary, oregano and cinnamon. But first you had to knead the dough and form your loaf. At the end, all that was left was to savor the taste of delicious, crusty bread. Those interested in the culinary arts could also see how traditional knot cake, baked on a wood-fired oven, is made, and try their hand at whipping butter.
During the event, PCK volunteers held a collection for those affected by the floods.
Thank you all for coming and welcome to our next events!
