Family values of Silesians

The traditional Silesian family was characterized primarily by a hierarchical arrangement of its members' positions. The father took care of the family's upkeep, while the mother took care of the home and the upbringing of the children, who from an early age were accustomed to various forms of work for the household, taught obedience and respect for their elders. For folk with Silesian ancestry, the family has always been a supreme value.

Country gardens - a tradition worth remembering

Gardens by the house full of multicolored flowers, aromatic herbs, trees and shrubs for most of us are associated with the idyllic countryside. In the past they were not only a place for relaxation, but also had an important utilitarian function providing basic food products. They were the showcase of the house and its hosts. Nowadays, traditional rural home gardens have lost their popularity. They have been replaced by smoothly trimmed lawns with precisely placed shrubs. This is a pity, because it is an important element of Polish tradition and culture that is worth reviving.
