Redoubts - masquerades of eighteenth-century Warsaw
Redoubts are carnival masked balls started in Warsaw in the 17th century by an Italian named Salvador, held in an elegant establishment run by him. They were attended by everyone with everyone, i.e. people of higher and lower status.
