Summer landscapes of the Polish countryside in the paintings of Stanisław Koguciuk

Summer is a special time when most of us go on a well-deserved vacation to enjoy the warm days to the fullest. This time of year is also a frequent motif in art, appearing in paintings by famous painters, such as Chelmonski, Gierymski and Tetmajer.

Stanislaw Koguciuk's work is no different. In many of the artist's works, the guiding theme is the summer landscape of the Polish countryside.

The daily life of the countryside, which the artist depicted in his paintings, was usually presented through a wide spectrum of colors, and their intensity showed the countryside in a unique, authentic way.

The painting "Landscape with a Carriage" (1996) depicts the idyllic atmosphere of the Polish countryside, characteristic of the current summer. This painting, as well as most of the works of the "Plawanich Nikifor", as Stanislaw Koguciuk was called, wonderfully captures the space of rural scenery and puts the viewer in a mood of harmony with nature. Storks by the river, a key of flying birds in the background and a cart driven by a peasant perfectly capture the impression of a summer day in the Polish countryside.

Another painting by the artist that perfectly depicts the summer mood in the countryside is "Wedding" (2000). It depicts a young couple riding in a cart, followed by wedding guests on successive horse-drawn carts. The colors are intense, with the predominant hues emphasizing the solemn nature of the situation - green, blue and red. In the background you can see a wooden cottage and a forest, which perfectly match the atmosphere of a rural summer afternoon.

Another "summer" painting by Stanislaw Koguciuk is "Landscape with Windmill" (2000). The painting shows a windmill and a pond with ducks swimming in it during a summer day. Blue, green and yellow are the colors that play the main role in this work by the artist.

Album ten prezentuje wiele prac ludowego twórcy zafascynowanego otaczającym go wiejskim światem i bogactwem natury ze znacznie szerszej perspektywy.

In addition to paintings, the book presents interesting reminiscences about Stanislaw Koguciuk. The authors, Jagoda Barczynska, Katarzyna Kraczon, Tadeusz Karabowicz, and Beata and Dariusz Mazurko, shared in the book personal, often subjective experiences of their contacts with the painter.

Anyone interested in the work of this remarkable folk artist is encouraged to read the album "Sincerity, Simplicity, Authenticity. Memories of Stanislaw Koguciuk," available in the publisher's online store.
