Kujawiaks in Ciechocinek

The event began as early as 4:00 pm with a concert by the band "agregandado" from Toruń. Then, the audience, which gathered in large numbers in front of the stage, could learn traditional Kuyavian dances during a workshop led by Dominik Wóltanski.

Kujawy is primarily famous for its three-beat dance rhythms with the most important one - the kujawiak, as well as the mazurka, oberek, owczaryszek (sheepdog) and cheers. Another highlight of the dance was the performance of the wonderful "Kapela spod Kowal". The dance floor was filled with dancers. In turn, for relaxation, the "Kujawy Bachorne Nowe" band from Osięciny, presented a re-enactment of the ritual "Wieńcowy u Dziedzica", referring to traditions associated with the end of the harvest in the old Kujawy village.

The audience had the opportunity to listen to the Kuyavian dialect in the scenes and chants performed. There was also dancing. Then the audience was taken to the dance floor prepared in front of the stage by the bands "Kujawioki" from Osięciny, the band of the Song and Dance Ensemble "Kujawy" from Włocławek and, again, "agregandado." The party with live music lasted until 10 pm.
