Competition for the Subcarpathian Champion of apple pie 2024 settled!

On October 13 this year, the Janczar Siedlisko in Pstrągowa - a certified facility on the Podkarpackie Flavors Culinary Trail - hosted the 9th Podkarpackie Apple Pie Festival, under the honorary patronage of the Podkarpackie Voivodship Marshal and Strzyżów Starost.

Partnerem wydarzenia było Województwo Podkarpackie, a także Szlak Kulinarny Podkarpackie Smaki, Polski Związek Kół Gospodyń Wiejskich, Podkarpacka Regionalna Organizacja Turystyczna, Stowarzyszenie Procarpathia, Lokalna Grupa Działania CK Podkarpacie, Narodowy Instytut Kultury i Dziedzictwa Wsi, Uzdrowisko Wysowa S.A.

29 cakes were submitted to the Competition for the Most Tasty Apple Pie, which were judged by Marcin Purgacz - Chairman of the Jury, Ambassador of the Podkarpackie Flavors brand and Ambassador of the Podkarpackie Flavors Culinary Trail, Krzysztof Zieliński - co-founder and animator of the Podkarpackie Flavors Culinary Trail, which has been operating since 2013. The Podkarpackie Flavors Culinary Trail, one of the largest of its kind in Poland, Konrad Korszla - Confectionery Chef of Heron Life Hotel, winner of numerous awards in culinary competitions, Ms. Lucyna Haluch - Director of the Restaurant and Business Center in Gorlice, juror of gastronomic and confectionery competitions, and Ms. Janina Mirus from KGW in Siedliska Bogusz, who was drawn from among the participants in the competition for the Most Tasty Apple Pie 2024.

The Subcarpathian Champion of Szarlotka 2024 was Mr. Łukasz Czaja, who presented a cake called "Szarlotka Pychotka". Second place went to KGW Nawsianki with an apple pie called "Renetka Dorotki", and third place went to "Granny's Apple Pie " baked by Mrs. Beata Magdoń. Meanwhile, honorable mentions went to Mrs. Paulina Fital for the cake called "Apple ecstasy 2.0", and to KGW Grzegorzówka for "Sunday apple pie" .Special mentions went to teams from the School Complex in Czudec and the Agrotechnical School Complex in Ropczyce. We congratulate all the winners and other participants of the Competition on their delicious baked goods and wish them further success.

Golden Polish autumn, sunny aura, plenty of attractions - including interesting workshops: "Meeting with a beekeeper", "Autumn people" and a fair of handicrafts, natural and ecological products, where one could buy: jewelry, beekeeping products, herbs, natural cosmetics, food products, chocolate products, wines, dolls, toys and flower bulbs, caused this year's event to be visited by several thousand people. Participants of the event had the opportunity to taste sausage products from the companies Kabanospol from Wielopole Skrzyńskie and Sokołów S.A.

There was also great excitement about the Podkarpackie Knowledge Contest. There were 3 teams to compete. The richest knowledge of Podkarpacie was demonstrated by the team of KGW Załęże. Second place went to the Strzępek family, and third to the Rogiński family.

In addition, the event was highlighted by concerts by the band Promyczki Dobra from Nowy Sącz, a performance by the band ROCHY Song and Dance Ensemble from Sędziszów Małopolski, dance shows by groups: Tańcząca 9-ka and Szafir from GOK from Wiercan.

The 9th Podkarpackie Szarlotki Festival was traditionally hosted by Mr. Zbigniew Kozłowski - a Polish television, film, theater and dubbing actor, who, during the event, repeatedly informed about partners, patrons of the event and sponsors.
