The first event referred to the time of Advent, which is a unique period in the Christian tradition. Advent song texts, however, are not as numerous as, for example, Christmas or Lent songs. Workshop participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with most of the songs published in the 1870 Pelplin Songbook, and melodies from their hometowns (Lomza, Kurpie Zielone) were given to them by Adam Strug, who sang songs passed down in oral tradition. As he himself stressed, they must be performed, especially in this period, collectively, and this effect was achieved during Saturday's workshop.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, the Maria Znamierowska-Prüfferowa Ethnographic Museum in Toruń was overrun by musicians. The Spod Kowal Band, one of the longest-established folk groups in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian province, relayed traditional Kuyavian melodies played on fiddle, accordion and baraban. The meeting turned out to be exceptionally fruitful for the participants also in terms of performance and even dance techniques - they learned about the traditional holding of female partners, preventing painful bumping of their elbows while spinning....
