County leaders, thanking farmers for their hard work, thanks to which Polish bread arrives on our tables every day, presented badges of honor "Meritorious for Agriculture" and awards from the Starost of Pulawy to the best farmers.
However, the most important part of every harvest festival is the ceremony of selecting and awarding the winners of harvest competitions, for which participants often prepare for months. At this year's harvest festival in Wąwolnica, competition took place in four competition categories: bread, harvest wreaths, stands and folk art.
In the bread competition, which was divided into three categories - regular, wholemeal and with additives - the winners were: in the first category, the Circle of Rural Housewives of Karmanovice, the best wholemeal baked goods - Grażyna Kowa, loaves with additives - Ruslanie Bielak.
The competition of harvest wreaths, in the traditional category was won by KGW Zagrody, and modern KGW Nasilow.
The winners of the best stand were: first place went to the Municipality of Żyrzyn, the second went to Markuszow, and the third to the Club of Folk Artists from Puławy.
The folk art competition consisted of several categories: textiles, braiding and wickerwork, sculpture, applied art, ceremonial art and painting. The winners of each were: Jadwiga Hamułko, Barbara Rułka, Ryszard Wrótniak, Władysław Maśny, Elżbieta Kałkowska and Barbara Jemioł.
