The word mother is usually the first one uttered by an infant as it learns about the world and enters its first social interactions. The bond between a woman and her child is unique and one of a kind. And although the role of the mother has changed its nature over the centuries, it still remains very important and is the most important life foundation for a growing person.
May Day in the rhythm of traditional dances

In Zwierzyniec Pierwszy in the municipality of Opatów (Kłobuck county), a Dancing Party was held at the fire station of the Voluntary Fire Brigade on May 18, 2024, prepared by the NIKiDW Regional Office in Częstochowa. Numerous residents of the surrounding villages enjoyed themselves to the sounds of traditional Polish music until well past midnight. Peasant community in church estates in the 16th-18th centuries

Between the 16th and 18th centuries there were towns and villages that belonged to church institutions. At the time, church villages accounted for about a fifth of the rural settlements in the Polish lands. Among peasants living in church estates, the community was quite diverse. The villages belonging to the clergy were inhabited by artisans, fishermen and gardeners, and mainly by peasants engaged in farming.

The 62nd Wanda Szkulmowska Pałuki Spring Folk Art Competition was an opportunity for artists and those taking their first steps in the fields of embroidery, ornamentation and sculpture to undergo the evaluation of a jury chaired by Kinga Turska-Skowronek of the Ethnographic Museum in Toruń.
