Tradycje zapustne Kujaw – chodzenie z kozą i podkoziołek

Tradycją praktykowaną do dziś na Kujawach jest chodzenie z kozą. Jego punktem kulminacyjnym jest tzw. podkoziołek. Jan Stanisław Bystroń (1892-1964) – polski etnograf i socjolog – w 1926 r. zaliczył podkoziołka do najważniejszych zwyczajów obrzędowych. Natomiast chodzenie z kozą w roku 2020 wpisano na Krajową Listę Niematerialnego Dziedzictwa Kulturowego.

Traditions of the Krajina region - workshops for KGWs.

On Saturday, October 19, 2024, a workshop on Krajna ornamentation and traditional songs from the Krajna Region was held at the Village House of Culture in Dąbrówka (Sępólno district, Kamień Krajeński municipality). They were attended by representatives of eight local housewives' circles from the villages of Wąwelno, Orzełek, Radzim, Sośno, Piaseczno, Obkas, Mrocza and Dąbrówka.

The tradition of the celebration of food

The celebration of food on Holy Saturday had a special significance for Christians. This tradition, although very old, has evolved over the centuries. Initially, the only ingredient of the holy of holies was a lamb, whole or in pieces, roasted on a spit. Over time, it was replaced with other types of meat.

Tradition unites generations

On Saturday, September 14, this year's edition of European Heritage Days was held at the NIKiDW headquarters, under the theme "Trails, Networks, Connections." In keeping with this theme, the Institute decided to present its Scholars to a wide audience in the convention: "Masters ... Students ... Creators".

Weaving - a forgotten craft

Rural weaving was usually a seasonal occupation practiced mainly by women. Skills were passed down from generation to generation. Almost every home had a loom used to make cloth, later used for sewing clothes and decorative materials.

Peasant wills in the Old Polish period

Peasant wills are valuable documents containing information about the movable and immovable assets of Polish village society. The wills contain details about family ties in the villages and information related to the villagers' intentions, which were expressed in the acts of the last will.

Easter art at the Kurpie gates

Folk costumes, palms, eggs, handicrafts, workshops of ritual art, Kurpie delicacies, competitions, and all garnished with folk music - we are talking, of course, about the anniversary XXV Meetings with Kurpie Easter Art, which took place on Sunday, 23 Matza, at the longest market square in Europe, namely in Pultusk.

SZRENIAW ECOLOGICAL CLASSES AND LECTURES

The National Museum of Agriculture and Agro-Food Industry in Szreniawa has received funding from the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Poznań for a project related to ecological activities.
