Weddings in the villages once lasted up to several days, and many specific customs were observed. Weddings were held only in "lucky" months, that is, only those that included the letter "r" in their name. The newlyweds, leaving the church after the wedding ceremony, were showered with grain or rice, which was intended to bring the young couple prosperity.
