V National Field Days in Boguchwała - report

On June 14-16, the Institute, in the role of Honorary Patron, took part in the National Field Days for the third time. This year's edition of the ministerial event was held at the Podkarpackie Agricultural Advisory Center in Boguchwała.

The Young Farmer's Day was held on Friday, June 14. Students from 61 schools run by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development visited thematic zones prepared by public institutions and private companies. NIKiDW prepared two types of activities: a field game and a workshop for painting Zalipian flowers on everyday objects. The field game "What in the countryside squeaks?" was an absolute novelty at the National Field Days. Students had to face a series of tasks in the following areas: knowledge of embroidery, instruments, dialect, folk dances, folk costumes and regional food. Sixteen schools were entered in the game, whose students made great efforts to correctly solve the tasks. After a long and fierce competition, the team representing the School Complex of the Agricultural Training Center in Lututów won and won the organization of handicraft workshops at their institution. Painting of Zalipian flowers was also very popular. Folk artists from Zalipie supported young students of folk art, who decorated everyday objects - spoons, spades and hats.

June 15 belonged to folk culture from outside the Subcarpathian region. At our booth we again hosted artists from Zalipie. Bands from different parts of Poland performed on the stages of the National Field Days - the Chełmińska Band, which played traditional melodies from the Chełmińska Land, the "Pod Borem" Kurpiowski Regional Band from Kurpie, which played scenes with elements of ritual during field work and rest of old Kurpie, the Holni Band, which played traditional songs and danced traditional dances from the Beskid region, and the Miechowiacy Song and Dance Group with a repertoire including dances from Kraków and Lublin.

On June 16, the Institute organized a handicraft workshop on weaving ornaments and hats from straw, led by a folk artist living near Dukla. Folk bands and ensembles from the Subcarpathian region performed on stage: the Gacoki Band, which played a number of songs from the Gać area, the Hyżniacy Song and Dance Ensemble with a repertoire from the Rzeszów area, the Karpaty Song and Dance Ensemble, which presented dances from Przeworsk, and the Łańcut Song and Dance Ensemble with a repertoire of dances and songs from the Łańcut area.

Throughout the event, visitors to the NIKiDW booth had the opportunity to learn about and purchase publications published by our Institute.

We are very pleased that once again we could participate in one of the largest agricultural events in our country. See you next year at the VI National Field Days at the Lodz Agricultural Advisory Center in Bratoszewice!
