We begin broadcasting films about the Institute's grantees

In the past 2024, among many other activities, we implemented two flagship programs of the NIKiDW: the 3rd edition of the Master-Student Scholarship Program and the 2nd edition of the Creative Scholarship. In the former, 25 scholarships were awarded to couples, and in the latter, 15 scholarships were awarded to creators. Beginning today, we will begin broadcasting 40 videos featuring the winners of both programs.

The purpose of the Master-Student Scholarship Program is to maintain local traditions and skills and ensure the continuity of such creativity, manifested in verbal culture, folklore and arts, crafts and handicrafts. The scholarship competition has received a wide response. Last year, more than 100 applications were received from artists and creators representing various fields of creativity of rural residents. They all centered around activities related to the continuation and transmission of traditions within the local community. The NIKiDW scholarship committee awarded 25 scholarships to master-student pairs.

The purpose of the Folk Artists Program is to support local heritage and traditions through a grant program for an individual folk artist, providing the opportunity to work on a work, which is important both from the point of view of its development and from the perspective of disseminating knowledge about the unique skills and traditions associated with them, which are an important part of the identity of the local community. The Scholarship's priorities concern creative projects rooted in the local community of the folk artist, with a particular focus on skills and content in danger of disappearing. Last year, support was awarded to 15 artists.

Thanks to the series of films starting today, you will be able to see the results of both masters and their students as well as individual artists working on a specific work. As an introduction to the series, we suggest watching a film presenting selected winners of both programs.
