Report from the seminar "Cooperation of Institutions Building the GIS Base - Implementation of Alma and Primo VE"

The meeting was organized by the SIGŻ team, which is involved in entering bibliographic records from Polish journals into the Food Management Information System database. The seminar was attended by librarians - specialists in scientific information, who came to the meeting from libraries of agricultural ^{universities1} that cooperate with the Institute's library in the construction of the SIGŻ database. The seminar was also attended by the Institute's management, the head of the Central Agricultural Library of the NIKiDW Branch in Puławy and library staff.

The purpose of the meeting was to exchange experiences from the implementation of the new library system ^Alma2. The impact of the implementation of the system on the implementation of the joint project, the subject of which is cooperation in expanding the SIGŻ database with articles from Polish agricultural journals, was discussed. The participants of the meeting traced the way articles are cataloged in the Alma library system and the way the SIGŻ database is searched using the Primo search engine on the CBR NIKiDW homepage and in the combined catalogs of the National Library. The importance of scientific information in the modern world was discussed by the head of the CBR NIKiDW Branch in Puławy. In the course of the discussion, representatives of the invited libraries provided comments and conclusions on the organization of work in the Alma system.

In conclusion of the meeting, the invited guests expressed interest in further cooperation in the co-creation of the Food Economy Information System (FIS) database.
