The number of entries in the second edition of the Illustrator Contest "To Tale in Folklore", although the first of a nationwide nature, exceeded our wildest expectations. And most importantly, not only in terms of quantity, but also in strictly qualitative terms.
Out of nearly five hundred works submitted, the competition commission - composed of: Jolanta Richter-Magnuszewska - illustrator, Justyna Bednarek - author of children's fairy tales, Lidia Kamińska-Koj - ethnographer and Lucyna Kozłowska - painter, folk artist - selected sixteen finalists in the category of grades 1-4 of elementary schools and ten among students in grades 5-8. All the ladies unanimously stressed that being in such a narrow group, among works of very high creative value, should already be considered an exceptional success.
However, in accordance with the Regulations, the Jury had to bend over the submitted illustrations again, and after heated deliberations and with minor point differences, selected the Laureates. Here they are:
In the category of grades 1- 4 elementary school:-
First prize - Paulina Pukała from Gorliczyna (John Paul II Elementary School in Chałupki),
2nd prize - Zofia Szajdziuk from Warsaw (Boleslaw Prus Elementary School No. 351 in Warsaw),
Third prize - Wiktoria Piasecka from Chelm (School and Kindergarten Complex No. 3 in Chelm),
Distinction - Adam Sikora from Chlopska Kepa (Primary School named after the 27th WDP AK in Swieszyn);
In the elementary school grades 5-8 category:
First prize - Emilia Rybicka from Warsaw (Tadeusz Kotarbinski Elementary School No. 362 in Warsaw),
2nd prize - Zofia Sikora from Pęckow (Józef Noja Elementary School in Pęckow),
Third prize - Alicja Grzegoszczyk from Skrzyszow (Powstańców Śląskich Primary School in Skrzyszow),
Distinction - Malwina Depczynska from Szerzyn (Communal Cultural and Reading Center in Szerzyn).
Wszystkim Laureatom nagród i wyróżnień serdecznie gratulujemy talentu i zapału.
