32nd edition of European Heritage Days

We will begin with a presentation of culinary products, prepared by Rural Housewives' Circles. In addition to traditional food, there will be a demonstration of handicraft techniques. There will be an exhibition of works by NIKiDW scholarship recipients entitled "Masters... students... creators".
The event will also include:

  • Straw ornament workshop led by Mr. Tomasz Krajewski and his wife - you will learn the traditional technique of creating straw ornaments, which were part of folk decorative art,
  • Glass painting workshops - under the guidance of Mr. Zbigniew Micherdzinski you will learn techniques that will allow you to create beautiful paintings on glass, inspired by folk motifs.

The event is also an opportunity to see performances by couples and soloists: Ms. Elżbieta Legierska, who will also conduct dance workshops, during which it will be possible to learn the basics of traditional dance, Ms. Oliwia Spychel and Mr. Zdzisław Marczuk - presenting violin music, Messrs. Jakub and Piotr Karpuk - brothers promoting the music of the masters of Vilnius, Messrs. Romuald Jędraszak and Karol Majerowski - bagpipers from Wielkopolska, and Ms. Katarzyna Lassak - violinist.

During the event, there will be an opportunity to talk to all the Scholars about the routes taken by the transmission of traditional skills, those intergenerational, but also the horizontal ones that arise whenever people who share the thread of cooperation meet.

Each year the EDD is organized under a different theme. This year's slogan, designated by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, refers directly to the Council of Europe's Cultural Routes project, which was initiated in 1987 by the Council of Europe. The initiative primarily promotes cultural cooperation in conjunction with tourism development. The theme also provides an opportunity to showcase the diversity of intangible heritage, including phenomena included in the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Admission is free!
