April 1 - April Fools' Day - a day of pranks and mischief was known as far back as the Middle Ages. It was dedicated to telling made-up stories, making all sorts of jokes and making fun of naive or careless people. The day was considered frivolous and people tried not to undertake any significant business at that time.
